ISRO launches ESA’s Proba-3 mission to study Sun’s corona and solar wind, advancing space weather forecasting.

The Hubble Space Telescope’s coronagraph has captured quasar 3C 273. The observations have provided the most detailed view of exotic phenomena near quasars.

ISRO’s successful launch of European Space Agency’s (ESA) Proba-3 satellites onboard PSLV-C59 rocket is a ‘groundbreaking mission’ and would significantly advance the understanding of Sun’s corona and solar wind, a former ISRO scientist said.

ISRO successfully launched the PSLV-C59/Proba-3 mission, deploying two ESA satellites into orbit. The mission, a collaboration between ISRO, NSIL, and ESA, demonstrates precision formation-flying technology. The satellites will form a 150-meter solar coronagraph to study the Sun’s corona.
