David Schwimmer reflected celebrating the 30th anniversary of famous sitcom Friends, almost 12 months after the tragic passing of his costar, Mathew Perry.

The 58-year-old actor, who played Ross Geller in the famous sitcom, in an interview with Smallzy’s Surgery show revealed, “I happened to be back in Los Angeles around the day that marked the 30th year of when we aired.”

The Friends: The Reunion actor went on to say, “I took [Matt] LeBlanc out to dinner, actually, and we reminisced and we toasted to the 30 years.”

According to Schwimmer, it’s amazing. “I mean, it’s amazing. It’s amazing to me that people are still watching and find it funny and comforting,” the actor said, adding, “And I feel nothing but gratitude, really.”

Earlier in September 2024, the Goosebumps star was told in an interview that Perry had a high opinion of his professionalism, to which, the actor surprisingly reacted, saying that he did not expect to hear such compliment from the late star as he rarely expressed his feelings.

“That’s interesting for many reasons, to hear that,” he said, adding, “It’s a huge compliment, and I’m surprised to hear it because Matthew was reserved with me, he would not say that to me. But I appreciate that a lot.”

Perry, who played a popular role of Chandler Bing on Friends, died in 2023 at the age of 54, due to a ketamine overdose.
